As a wife and the mother of two young children, I am passionate about making our parish safer in order to encourage growth in the community. The crime rate and education system in Shreveport seem to be the reason that a vast majority of businesses looking to relocate often choose to forego Caddo Parish, and the reason that many parents encourage their children to settle in another community.
I believe that a great education in a safe atmosphere is the foundation for a great community, and by focusing on supporting our educators and law enforcement officers, we can focus on growing our economy as well. Our youth are the cornerstone of our community and their development decides our future.
I have the distinctive qualifications of being both a former juvenile prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney. I have seen not only the problems with the current recidivism rate, but also what can happen when a youth is truly rehabilitated. I feel that my experience will allow me to look at each case individually, because the same solution is not appropriate for every family or child.
With the unique perspective of practicing both as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney, I would be able to find fair and just solutions for each family and child that comes before me. As your juvenile judge, I plan to bring my passion for our community and its families into the courtroom every day.
